I was on holiday and visiting a nearby island off the coast of GA where I met these lovely grackles. I know grackles well-they visit our home all spring and summer. They are very smart and communicate clearly with their eyes and gestures - hardly a need for telepathy with them they are so obvious.
So this group was on a pier by a sink and the water was turned off. They did everything in their power to show us what they needed including pecking at the tap. So I turned it on (low) for them-starting with photo 3 see one happily strutting to the water, drinking it, saying thank you, and the final one is the well hydrated joyful family of grackles. Sometimes wildlife just needs a hand - literally - a helping hand to turn on a faucet and have some water available for them - whether it’s on vacation or a birdbath in the garden. Water is precious to us all and I’ve been receiving a lot of messages lately to infuse the water we drink (and serve to others) with love and healing energy. Was sitting outside with my daughter Gracie. Sharing my scarf with her because it feels a bit chilly. She and her brother convinced me to come sit out here. Watching trees shed their leaves. On this new moon I’m just quietly being. Feeling into the energy around me. A quote I read when I was very young circles in my mind:
“At the centre of the Earth✨ Stand looking around you.✨ Recognizing the tribe✨ Stand looking around you.✨” It has been swirling in my head for some time. For me it represents recognizing the animal and plant beings around me as part of the “tribe.” Also recognizing & acknowledging so many who are here to stand up for and with the animal and tree souls. Protectors. We are stronger together. None of us are alone on this path. There is more support and love around us than we can possibly be aware of. As we go into holidays that can sometimes be difficult for those of us who feel the animals - those of us who are sensitive to jokes and constant ads about turkeys and things like that. You are not alone. Take time to be still in the midst of it all. Peace and love to your hearts. ❤️ quote credit: I read it in Susan Seddon Boulet’s book of paintings called Shaman when I was around 15/16. Page 90 by a painting called ancestor. Not 100% sure if hers or something she matched to the art. If anyone knows more feel free to mention and I’ll add it to the post. the insects have been speaking up a little louder lately. This sweet spider lives in my bathroom - she’s an indoor spider. (There are bigger outdoor ones that are hardier and I gently take them out.) This one tends to mostly be above the shower area and once or twice she has ended up in the tub by accident, which is too slippery for her to climb up from- so one of the things I always do before a shower is to check the tub bottom and if she’s there I give her a lift back up to her spot.
Like good roommates we watch out for each other. She weaves magical energy protections and grounds faerie energy into the home. I make sure she doesn’t get stuck in the tub and say hi to her when I see her. The patterns of spiderwebs are also a lovely thing to focus on for meditation-we can imagine the types of energetic weaving we wish to create in our lives.✨🕸💗 Last week I helped a dear friend to gently escort a cockroach out of her camera bag. A lovely person standing near watched the process and asked me how I got so comfortable with insects - and I thought it was a great question.✨
As humans, many of us instinctively recoil at the sight and especially at the touch of certain insects. The natural reaction when we feel it is to wave our arms or even scream & jump back. I am not immune to this- I actually trained myself to not react.✨ I don’t have a phobia, but I remember a time when I was younger- I probably would have waved my arm to get anything that landed on me off. Then I became a mom. To cats. Cats have whiskers and fuzzy tails which brush against you and they can sometimes feel like a light insect is walking on you.🐈 I was terrified that I would accidentally bump them if I reacted to a light touch thinking it was an insect. So I trained myself to stay perfectly still if I felt a light brush - and to look at the source before I reacted or moved. It’s really not as hard as it sounds. Most of the time it would be a kitty whisker. Sometimes a ladybug, or a stink bug, ants, and yes - I have even had a cockroach walk on me- I live in the (US) south and they are extremely common here. It was fine. Because I didn’t react- I calmly was able to take them outside where they belong. (Once I was at an outdoor restaurant patio with trees around and one fell on my arm! I just discreetly put her on the floor so she could escape without creating a panic.) So that’s it! That’s how I initially began getting used to insects without triggering a fear reaction. Now that I can communicate with them I’m extra grateful for the training and it allows me to connect better. ❤️Also an added bonus- when dealing with insects that sting- if we don’t freak out and try to shake them off violently - they are far less likely to get scared themselves & this in turn decreases the chance of a sting/bite. 🐝✨🐜 This photo is of a cockroach that got inside and had a sip from the kitty fountain where I noticed her and then gently took her outside.✨ We had the loveliest visitor in the garden yesterday. He jumped unto the handle of my husband’s (electric) lawnmower and rode around there for a while, then this cutie let me carry him to a nice grassy spot near a shallow water dish.
I put my hand down for him to jump off- but instead he stayed for a long time & then jumped on my lap! I had a “lap frog” for like 15 minutes! I even gave him a bit of reiki :) We felt so honoured to be graced by this visit. The energy was sweet, wise and very much about being in the moment and enjoying stillness. I felt like he could really teach me about the art of “chilling out” properly.☀️ This aura photograph of me was made by @theauraweaver a little while back. One of the beautiful things about seeing an aura is that you can clearly see emotional states - the energy doesn’t lie. As humans most of us are experts at hiding our emotions. Sometimes to protect ourselves, other times to protect someone else from the intensity of the depths of our feelings.✨
I know I tend to do that- at times when I’m struggling or sad I will put on a smile and say I’m fine. Especially for a casual social interaction. One of the amazing things about animals is that they can clearly see our energy fields and feel our emotions. Even if we are smiling - they fully feel the layers of emotion underneath that. And they try to help. They shower us with love and do their very best to lift our spirits. Obviously our companions know us best- but I’ve also seen dogs try to comfort someone they barely know at a party. Very often they will go to the person who needs them the most.✨ When I was grieving after my cat sons crossed the rainbow bridge-I would go to friends’ homes and their companion animals would make an extra effort to sit with me or on my lap- even ones who normally were not snuggly with me before. I could feel them healing my heart. ❤️ Their ability to really “see us” what’s underneath everything we present to the rest of the world, that is one of the gifts our animal companions grace and honor us with.❤️ Sharing reiki healing energy with animals gives me so much joy. The majority of my sessions are long-distance so when I get to do it in person it’s such a treat! This sweet boy is a family member and I was baby sitting him when his mom was out of town. He immediately jumped on my lap and as soon as the energy started flowing he curled up happily for a long reiki nap. I love how animals are so aware of how much they need too. The first day he wanted a lot, close to an hour -and then the following day like 35 minutes and it gradually decreased. The other day I gave a dog friend reiki at her house and she said thank you when she was done.
Reiki helps with emotional healing as well as physical - so it’s perfect for animal companions to receive comfort when their humans are travelling. With my long distance sessions I use a photo and I also ask the animals’ spirit guides to be present. Additionally there are so many angelic/elemental/light beings who come to add to the energy- too many really for me to do more than feel their presence but it would take too long to list them or even focus on all. Ever since I started reiki I always knew I wanted to do it exclusively for animals (I don’t offer it professionally for humans) and because I have focused on them for 11 years (so far) there is a lot of multidimensional support that comes who want to specifically help animals. (Practitioners who offer healing specifically to humans receive multidimensional support too-just different ones who wish to focus on people-and I’m sure there is some overlap- it’s a unique group for each recipient human or animal. I love that I can feel it flowing through me to them as I facilitate these healings ~ sort of like a bridge ~grounding them to this dimension.💙 I was at a “meeting of the minds” at @thecenterforloveandlightatl
last week and we were asked to share our mission and as I was listening to the lovely people at my table I realized theirs was very succinct and I had written kind of a long paragraph -so when it came time for me to share- I took a look at what I had in front of me and realized that I could edit it down to 4 words: dismantle the species hierarchy Sure there is a lot I want to say/add about the ways I want to contribute to that and the joy of how direct communication with animals (and plants/nature) is a straight pathway and the energy healing I love to offer to animals. But in brief-the species hierarchy is what creates discord for us. It’s not natural for one species (humans) to believe we are apart from and above other species. Once we can feel and know that we are equal and our love transcends species - then it will become so much easier to communicate. This is the very first step to being able to connect (and we all have the ability.) Also why it’s easier to start with animals many of us already think of as equal like our companions- and once we understand that they operate from such a high frequency of love, then we can accept that other species are equal too. What I do is sometimes hard to explain-but I continually try to find words to do so & to de-mystify the process. I think sometimes there are preconceived notions of how an animal communicator works but every single one of us does it in our own unique way. Since I am often asked about it I thought I would try to summarize it a bit here.
I do my sessions remotely (this means I initiate communication long distance with the animal by looking at a photo and reaching out telepathically/energetically rather than in person.) ✨ It works the same way whether the animal companion is in spirit or living.✨Also same way with different species, although I do notice certain species specific energetics & mannerisms. I love working with all species. ❤️ I ask the human for questions-that they want me to ask on their behalf. Most of the time the animal companion reads the questions from the human’s mind as they write them down, so they are expecting the ?’s. As with medium readings -the more specific the questions the more helpful it is for the animal to answer & elaborate. It also helps me to know how best to ask the question. Just like with people some animals talk a lot and others are more concise.✨ Finally I ask the human to tell their companion to expect they will be hearing from me. This way they are not surprised when I reach out. I also call in the animal’s spirit guides to assist with the session. Often when I send them reiki -many beings of light join in to offer healing and love. One of the easiest ways to explain it (I think) is that my process is much like a reading with a medium. Only I focus on animals exclusively and I talk to ones that are living as well as across the rainbow bridge.✨ Animals love to connect this way with their people and it helps them to feel “heard” and understood better. Sometimes the humans are surprised at the depth of emotion and spiritual awareness their animals express. Often it serves as a confirmation of what they already feel from them energetically/emotionally.❤️❤️ ❤️ Photo is me as a child with a baby horse friend. Our animal companions so very often are our spiritual teachers. I am continually amazed by how often in sessions animals give their humans advice on meditation, how to access/use their abilities and even give detailed instructions regarding their person’s energy healing techniques.
Companions are so aware of where we are at energetically- they monitor our emotions and are always there for us if they see them dip. They also love it when we raise our frequency - they cheer us on with happy eyes and snuggles!💫 Often they model issues for us to learn from and they are so proud when we do! And when we don’t-or we are slow...they remain unconditionally loving.💞 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ In the photo my very own starseed daughter is meditating with a piece of Moldavite on her royal ruff. Moldavite is an amazing transformative stone -it was formed when a meteor crashed into the bohemian plateau and melded with earth material. It’s literally from the stars and feels like it. |
